Ein Röhrenfernseher, irgendwo und irgendwann im Westdeutschland der 1980er Jahre: Auf einer unbeschrifteten Super-8-Rolle hat eine unbekannte Person erotische Momente direkt vom flimmernden Kathodenstrahl-Bildschirm abgefilmt. Heimlich, hastig, voller Begehren und technischer Improvisation schreiben sich Voyeurismus und öffentliches Videosignal in ein privates Archiv.
Dazu kombinieren wir zwei Hardcore-Loops auf Super 8, die das Medium selbst ins Zentrum rücken: Videokameras, Kabel und Monitore als Lustmaschinen, vielleicht ahnend, dass das Schmalfilmformat schon bald von der Videokassette verdrängt werden würde. Schließlich vollziehen zwei Amateurfilme den Sprung vom Bild zum Körper, vom Schauen und Blättern zum Gehen und Handeln vor laufender Kamera.
A tube television, somewhere and sometime in West Germany in the 1980s: on an unlabeled Super 8 reel, an unknown person has filmed erotic moments directly from the flickering cathode ray screen. Secretly, hastily, full of desire and technical improvisation, voyeurism and public video signals are written into a private archive.
To this end, we combine two hardcore loops on Super 8 that focus on the medium itself: video cameras, cables, and monitors as pleasure machines, perhaps sensing that the narrow gauge film format would soon be replaced by the video cassette. Finally, two amateur films make the leap from image to body, from watching and leafing through to walking and acting in front of the camera.
